Leaving your pants and skirts at home is the latest trend when it comes to bold, statement-making outfits. While it can count as a catalyst for attention, this power move is the ultimate test of daring and an act of liberation as well as proving a sense of female emancipation. There's no longer any need to get the right match between your clothes and colors - to determine whether the hem should be long or short or whether it's better to have a tailored or oversized fit. Legs are leading the way, and they might just be covered by a pair of sheer or super-opaque tights, as seen in Maximilian Davis's first show as creative director of Ferragamo at this year's Fall-Winter 2023-2024 Fashion Week in Milan.

For Spring-Summer 2023, designers showcased nude versions (Alexis Mabille and Miu Miu) serving as a counter-trend to the layered skirts and pants looks already worn by Bella Hadid.

The trend encourages us to think about the elements that make up our wardrobe, which is now truly reduced to the essentials. It also liberates the body (especially the legs).
