Who would have thought it? Say goodbye to bermudas and the reliable dress in all its forms, because capri pants are the new fashion must-have of summer 2023. They can be worn equally well with sneakers as pumps (see: Gigi Hadid on the streets of New York) and send your style rocketing into the stratosphere of chic.

And the result was ultra-inspiring!

Unlike shorts or bermudas which show off the wearer's knees, this pant covers them completely. An iconic Y2K piece, adopted by stars such as Kate Moss, Jackie Kennedy and Bella Hadid, this cropped pant going by the name of capri pants, or just capris, is making a reserved comeback this summer thanks to a handful of fashion houses that have fallen into line with this micro trend.

While Isabel Marant decided to wed the vibes of cargo pants with capris, Jacquemus made them the highlight of his Spring/Summer 2023 show, transforming them into denim or enhancing them with a very 90s polka dot pattern. In fact, it was one of these models that Gigi Hadid chose for during her latest outing on the streets of New York. Proving that capri pants can be just as chic as regular pants or a dress, the 28-year-old supermodel paired them with a black vest top and a pair of pointed-toe pumps.
