This season, Alexandre Mattiussi stripped his collection of all formality, showing off pieces with pronounced shoulders and flowing, natural volumes. As a journalist, one of the pleasures of a fashion show is to discover new ways to wear wardrobe staples, whether they become statement pieces or not. So when the designer unveiled his own outlook on pants for Spring/Summer 2024 with a 1990s minimalism-inspired silhouette, one of his first fashion favorites, the result could only be ultra-desirable.

Until now, leather and denim pants have been occupying the top spot when it comes to menswear essentials. However, these two staples are about to be upstaged by another model from Ami: pants covered in all-over sequins. Alexandre Mattiussi presented the textured piece at his runway show, paired with a sheer black top and patent lace-up shoes. They can also be worn with a simple suit jacket or a white T-shirt. These pants tick all of the boxes for becoming our next favorite piece. They are daring, sophisticated, and bold enough to be a standalone piece.
